Social Self-Care

Socialization is about spending time with others. This might be anything from a large, noisy group through to quiet time with one close friend. Extroverts tend to enjoy being part of [or central to] a high energy social activity while introverts tend to prefer organised social interaction where they can manage their levels of engagement. Generally, face-to-face contact is regarded as “socialising” but could it include online friendships and interaction? While time with friends and family members might be energising for some, it can be very draining for others. Everyone has different needs. Remember, the important question is: “Is this interaction for ME and is it giving me positive energy?” If the answer to this is “No,” you might need to re-evaluate your choice of self-care, your choice of friends or how much time you choose to spend with draining friends and family members.
